Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Just like our physical health, it is important we take care of our mental health and wellness. Small actions can have a big impact!
Here are some tips to take care of your mental health this month:
- Move: Incorporate some form of movement or exercise into your daily routine. Moving our bodies with intention can help manage stress. Being outdoors or in nature is even better!
- Strengthen Your Mind: Engaging in activities such as journaling or mindfulness and practicing gratitude can have positive impacts on mental health. These small habits at the start or end of our day can make a big difference.
- Connect: Reaching out to a friend or family, engaging with a community or volunteering are great ways to have meaningful connections with others.
- Sleep: Developing healthy sleep habits can positively impact our overall health, and can boost our immune system, strengthen the heart and improve memory.
- Create: Finding a creative outlet, such as art or writing, can help us manage and regulate our emotions and experiences. Even if you are not a creative person, allow yourself to try something new to help build confidence and find purpose.
