Director's Corner: Frances Diaz, Psy.D.

Frances Diaz, Psy.D.

Dear UCI Students,

Over the past 9 months there have been multiple acts of violence that have impacted the country, and in particular communities and members of our UCI family. The Counseling Center wants to extend our deepest condolences to the members of the Anteater family that are impacted by the recent shootings that occurred over this past week. We also extend our condolences to the victims and their families! To the members of the UCI community: if you need support, please know that UCI has resources for students, faculty and staff. You can get more information at these websites: Counseling Center Website and for faculty/staff at Employee Assistance Program Website. Another great resource for tips on how to manage distress after a mass shooting can be found at the following: https://www.apa.org/helpcenter/mass-shooting

Again, the Counseling Center extends our thoughts and support during this difficult time. Please remember we have crises services available Monday thru Friday 8am-4:30pm by walking into the Counseling Center (203 Student Services I) or after hours by calling 949-824-6457 and select option 2.
