Staying here for the holidays? Traveling to visit loved ones? No matter where you find yourself, the holiday period often comes with an abundance of emotions that can be dysregulating.

This winter season, share the gift of slowness by trying out some of these coping strategies before you feel overwhelmed:

  • Get fresh air and sunlight, even if only for 30 seconds
  • Do a small task now that your future self will appreciate
  • Make a statement of gratitude for something you eat
  • Look around and name an object of each color in the rainbow
  • Touch something that feels soothing
